Manage AI usage and credits

Track the included tokens used by Generate with AI, add workspace credits for occasional overages, and understand what happens when the monthly allowance is reached.

Before you begin

This page covers Org Loom's built-in Generate with AI feature. It does not cover tokens used by an AI client that you connect through MCP. A connected AI client uses your agreement and usage allowance with that AI provider.

The included monthly allowance is:

  • Pro: 500,000 tokens per workspace.
  • Team: 500,000 tokens for each paid seat, combined into one workspace allowance. For example, three paid seats provide 1,500,000 included tokens for the workspace.

Workspace AI credits are a shared add-on balance. They are used only after the included allowance has been consumed and they do not expire.

The process

  1. Open the workspace's Billing tab.
  2. Review this month's AI usage and the credit balance.
  3. Buy credits if the workspace needs additional capacity.
  4. Return to Generate with AI and continue working.
  5. Use Activity History when you need to understand where usage occurred.

Step 1: Review the workspace allowance

Open Workspace from the canvas and select Billing. The AI usage area shows:

  • the workspace's tokens used during the current month;
  • the included token allowance for the workspace;
  • the remaining shared AI-credit balance; and
  • a breakdown when usage has begun consuming credits.

The Billing tab is the best place to check the current workspace total. Team usage is pooled, so one member's generations reduce the same included allowance available to the other members.

Step 2: Understand how usage is charged

  1. Generate with AI uses the workspace's included monthly tokens first.
  2. Usage beyond that allowance is deducted from workspace AI credits.
  3. When both are unavailable, new generations are blocked until credits are added or the included allowance resets.

Included usage resets on the first day of each month in UTC. The credit balance carries forward unchanged until it is used.

Credits do not replace the monthly allowance. Buying credits increases only the add-on balance. The new month's included allowance is still used first after the reset.

Step 3: Respond to usage warnings

Generate with AI displays an advance warning when its usage meter is at 90 percent or more. This warning does not stop the current action. Use the Billing tab to review the workspace total and decide whether an add-on is needed.

When the included allowance has been exhausted, the message explains whether the next generation can use workspace credits. If no credits remain, ask a workspace admin to add credits or wait for the monthly reset.

Step 4: Buy AI credits

A workspace admin can select Buy AI credits on the Billing tab. Each one-time $10 purchase adds 100,000 tokens to the workspace credit balance. Payment is completed through Stripe, then Org Loom returns to Billing and confirms the updated balance.

Non-admin members can view usage but cannot purchase credits. If a member reaches the limit, they should ask a workspace admin to review Billing.

Step 5: Review AI activity

Open the workspace's Activity tab and filter for AI generation or AI-credit actions. Activity History can identify who ran a generation, its token count, and whether credits were consumed. A generation denied because the allowance was exhausted also appears as a denied action.

Prompt text and generated Salesforce field values are not included in the workspace activity record.

Credits or a different plan?

  • Use credits for occasional spikes. The unused balance remains available for a later month.
  • Review the plan and seat count for recurring usage. Each paid Team seat increases the workspace's included monthly allowance as well as its member capacity.
